Alex Ferguson: Liverpool have no chance of winning Premiership title

In the latest war on nerves, Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has said that Liverpool have no chance of winning silverware this season, that's coming only days after he dismissed Manchester City as a "team with no substance, a team with small mentality, and a team which will win nothing".

Ferguson has said he sees Chelsea as the main threat to his hopes of winning the Premier League for the fourth year in a row.

According to the Guardian, his assessment of the Merseysiders is not based on the fact that they are parting ways with one of their instrumental players, Xabi Alonso who is to pass medical with Real Madrid on August 5.

Ferguson has said that Rafa Benítez's team will depend a lot more on Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres, but he doesn't visualise how its possible for the Merseysiders to build on what they had achieved last season.

"Liverpool have just had probably their best season for 20 years, finished up with 86 points and still finished four adrift," he said, quoted by the Guardian. "It will be hard for them to match that, let alone improve. Other teams will read Liverpool better."

"It has to be Chelsea as the main threat," he said. "Ancelotti will change the way Chelsea play. There is plenty of flexibility in what he's got and he should get goals from Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka.

Liverpool Will have a great chance of winning the prem because ManUnited has a useless team because if you look at the Manchester team now and compare it to last years team you can see a majore difference. There best player have gone and Rooney will never be as good as Ronaldo he has a shit record in scoring goals and Berbatov is as lazy as a mule furthermore he only scored !4 goal in total plus he is manu's record signing how crap is that Fergie
shold shut his mouth hole.

is angry.

Fergie has a great rep but he should look to his own decisions.Letting Teves go ..idiotic..his starting lineup for the Champions league final.. a disaster..he ended up being out thought and outplayed..and do not underestimate the loss of Renaldo

Stevie G can go back in the middle but everyone says he plays best with no tracking back to do in midfield. If he has to do this it will take a lot away from his game. Plus who would play up front with Torres? Ngog, El Zahar hahahahaha. 19 titles for the red devils in may 2010 from mystic meg

He is so arrogant and rude, who the hell does he think he is...mistic meg. He doesnt know whats going to happen. He should look at his own team now that tevez and Ronaldo have gone, like to see how they cope next year. Yeah we may have lost Alonso but are people forgetting that Stevie G can go back in the middle, one of the best central midfielders around. Rafa just gotta go back to 4-4-2 which can work out just as good as Torres can play with anyone
