Two children test positive for swine flu in Varna

Two children in Varna were tested and confirmed to have been infected with the H1N1 strain of flu, doctor Svetla Staneva, head of the Varna regional healthcare directorate has said, as quoted by Bulgarian news agency BTA.

The boys, aged five and eight, had returned from the United Kingdom. They were hospitalised in Varna, and reportedly, neither of them is in immediate danger.

On July 27, a 42 year-old Bulgarian man who had travelled to Germany and Belgium was also identified as a virus carrier upon his return to Bulgaria. The man, also a native of Varna, took the total of H1N1-infected patients in the city to five.

Last week, there were two cases of H1N1 carriers discovered in a stewardess, who, as reported by Dnevnik daily, had reached full recovery and has subsequently returned to work, whilst a 19-year-old Kuwaiti citizen who was diagnosed with the disease has returned to his country.
