Kolo Toure set to complete transfer to Manchester City

Manchester City's shopping spree will claim its newest acquisition, Kolo Toure, the second player snatched from Arsenal along with Emmanuel Adebayor. Toure is scheduled to arrive at Eastlands on July 29 from the Arsenal's training camp in Austria undergo a medical check, put pen to paper and complete his transfer, following the agreement between both clubs on a fee of 14 million pounds sterling.

The 28-year-old defender played for Arsenal in a pre-season friendly on July 27, in what was to be his final match for the Gunners.

Toure would become Manchester City's fifth signing during the summer transfer window, along with Gareth Barry, Roque Santa Cruz, Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor, and took the club's summer transfer spending to nearly 100 million pounds. Toure is expected to sign a contract that will see him earn in excess of 100 000 pounds a week.

According to media reports in Britain, Toure will not put an end to City's ambition to bolster their squad. The club are hoping to sign at least one more player before the transfer window closes, with Everton defender Joleon Lescott targeted.
