American R&B and soul singer Macy Gray will perform in Sofia on September 9 at Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture starting 8pm.

Gray is renowned for her distinctive hoarse voice and a singing style heavily influenced by Billie Holiday and Bette Davis.

Tickets for the show are priced from 45 to 90 leva. They are available at the NDK ticket centre.

Gray's afterparty will take place at Yalta night club where she will be one of the DJs. The party starts at 11pm and tickets are sold at 15 and 20 leva.

Gray has released four studio albums, as well as one compilation album, and one live album. Her fourth and so far, most recent studio album Big, was released in March 2007—and has since drawn international acclaim and received five Grammy Award nominations, winning one.

Currently she is working on her newest project, "The Gray Life", while the concert here in Bulgaria was organised by Nescafe Gold, who had used one of her songs "Glad You're Here" for their latest advertisement, currently aired in Bulgaria.

She has appeared in a number of films including Training Day, Spider-Man, and Idlewild. Gray is best known for her international hit single "I Try", taken from her multi-platinum debut album On How Life Is.
