Albanian authorities have confirmed that the first swine flu case in the country has been detected and dealt with. According to the Albanian health ministry, the affected man was a student.

Reportedly, it was not a case of severe infection as the "student was treated" and "he had fully recovered from the disease".

Public Health Institute head Alban Ylli says the student from southern Albania was the only person out of 100 suspected swine flu patients to test positive for the virus, as the country feared that there might an outbreak of substantially larger scale.

Neither Ylli not the ministry of health have disclosed any additional information on how the student was contaminated and whether his relatives have had medical tests.

Albania is still fine like most countries with that flu. Normal flu is a much bigger killer than swine flu is at this moment (and probably will ever be).
