Defence Ministry honours outgoing US ambassador

At a ceremony on July 20 2009, outgoing Defence Minister Nikolai Tsonev conferred the ministry's badge of honour, St George First Class, on outgoing US ambassador to Bulgaria Nancy McEldowney for her contribution to the development of Bulgarian-US military ties.
 
McEldowney is departing for Washington to take up a senior post in the state department. Like the rest of the current Government, Tsonev is leaving office to make way for the incoming administration that will be headed by Boiko Borissov.
