A total of 714 litres of cocaine in liquid form, stored in 1020 wine bottles, have been seized by the State Agency for National Security (SANS) in the Black Sea port of Varna, SANS said on July 10 2009.

The operation was led in co-operation with Customs Agency and US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) following a six-month long operation. The bottles were of the Bolivian Kohlberg brand, SANS said, and were mixed with genuine wine bottles of the same brand.

The container's route started in Bolivia but the bottles full of cocaine liquid were loaded in the Chilean port of Arica.

The ship carrying the container arrived in Varna Zapad (West) port on June 28 2009.

This was the second drug seizure in Bulgaria in the past week. On July 6 2009, a multi-national task force aimed at tackling international drug trafficking on the territory of Blagovgrad municipality arrested six people and seized more than 111kg of heroin.

The heroin's origin was Afghanistan, en route to Macedonia. It was a joint operation conducted by the Ministry of Interior's drugs branch and special branch, as well as Macedonian police and police agencies operating in Bucharest, Romania and Istanbul.

Makedonia again... what do you guys do with all that cocaine?
I am curious...
Someone here said that you tend to wipe your "you know what's" with passports, so I am genuinely interested if you've stumbled of similarly creative ways of using the white powder...
Stuffing it down your ears, or using it against diaper rash... I am serious...

Presumably this was in breach of EU wine regulations, both in content and in labelling ? What did the Bulgarian National Vine and Wine Chamber do ?
