In a 45-minute media conference, GERB leader Boiko Borissov said his party would rule the country in the name of all voters, but fired strong warnings to those who had abused funds or positions.

Borissov opened the GERB post-election media conference with an invitation to Bulgarian Muslims, saying he hoped they would "stop listening to those who play on their fears".

"For us, ethnicity does not play a role," Borissov said. Bulgarian Muslims had a role to play in the government of the country, according to Borissov.

"I will not comment on the transporting of voters back and forth," he said. "When [Ahmed] Dogan says there is nothing illegal about this, of course that is true. They created laws that would allow this," Borissov said.

A review of election laws would be on GERB's agenda, he said. One hundred thousand election tourists had nothing to do with democracy, Borissov said. "We are the joke of Europe," he said.

According to Borissov, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) was already preparing to do what it could to hinder a new GERB-led government. "This is why they have bought media, why they have bought television stations, and so on," Borissov said.

Blaming the outgoing tripartite coalition for not presenting a budget before the election, Borissov said the new government would begin its work oblivious to the current financial state of the country.

Clearly learning from past elections, Borissov warned against over-expectations of a new government. "Our programme is a four-year programme; do not expect miracles after four or five months," he said.

Borissov claimed his party had support from leaders in large European countries - including Germany and France - and the European People's Party. This support and trust would enable the country to regain access to European Funds, including agricultural funds, he said.

Asked whether a GERB-led government would be a technocratic government, Borissov said his party was a combination of politicians, technocrats and pragmatists and that this would be true for the new government.

Answering questions about past cases of corruption and how his party would deal with those, Borissov referred to his period as mayor of Sofia. "Before I became mayor, had you heard of Toplofikatsiya, or Sofiiski Imoti?" he said, promising a new government would prosecute any corruption cases that took place under the previous government.

bb and motivating people. Everytime I saw him in tv, I felt him sacked in the responsibility. By now everybody is suggesting, that´s coolness, but in real it might be missing direction.

neither his gerb group doesn´t seem to be a well organised. So Boyko have fun in keeping the records in future.
Just like: the winner takes it all ... but judges will decide (later)

BB people are not expecting miracles, perhaps true. But they are expecting transparency on what you are doing day to day in your Government. This approach will re-build public confidence and in turn provide you with valuable feedback on how your broad policies are performing.

Create very strict and monitored regulatory regimes within local administrative Government otherwise corruption and these side deals with only foster and simply get out of control.

Remember rule of law and not rule by law!!

Good luck.

The vote in general is good for Bulgarians, well done!! Now lets turn the talk into action, BB now needs to motivate the Bulgarian people as this is what "true leaders do" and rather quickly!!
