The official website of Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev appeared to have been hacked and defaced late on July 1 2009.

The title of the homepage had been changed to "the officially hacked page" and the page's content was replaced by a text that read;

"This site was hacked by several ANGRY, but otherwise normal Bulgarian citizens."

"You have to be extremely stupid and incompetent if you think that your campaign can mislead anyone but the most uneducated. Is that your electorate?"

"We have had enough of watching you strip Bulgaria before our eyes, to destroy our natural resources and our reputation as a country."

"Disgrace is a weak word for you and your actions!"

"PS: we are not 'paid hackers' and do not do this on behalf of any political party, we simply do not like YOU!"

"We, and people likes us are the future of Bulgaria, every day we break our backs working and suffer misery because of your incompetence! Levski and Botev did not give their lives for you to fill your pockets."
