The Bulgarian Michael Jackson fanclub announced it would hold a memorial vigil in front of the national theatre Ivan Vazov in Sofia on June 26.

The vigil was to start at 6pm, Avtora.com said.

Anna Yankova, leader of the fanclub, said the fans had held gatherings before in support of Jackson at difficult moments in his life.

Besides the 460 to 470 members of the club, Yankova said she expected non-club-members to join the memorial.

American pop legend Michael Jackson died of a heart attack in a Los Angeles hospital late on June 25 2009.
