From Wales to Sweden, with a stop at the ball

Wikipedia's Jimmy Wales.

Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales was in Bulgaria and found time to give an interview to Rene Beekman and Alex Bivol of The Sofia Echo.

The full-length exclusive interview is just one of the drawcards of the issue of the newspaper appearing on June 12 2009.

Elsewhere, we analyse the outcome of the European Parliament elections and look ahead at the implications for Bulgaria’s July national parliamentary elections.

The newspaper includes a special feature on Sweden and Bulgaria, including a lighter look at the two countries "bilateral engagements" on the football field.

In the features section, David Clark holds forth on some of the peculiarities of Sofia Life, while Gabriel Hershman casts a jaundiced eye on school-leavers’ rituals and the lavish spending on their prom balls.

As ever, the newspaper includes its regular features – entertainment listings, restaurant review, social photographs and sports coverage.

Inappropriate comment?

@Gregory Kohs: if you read the article more carefully, you'll see that wikia and bomis are not mentioned at all, let alone anything about who has founded what.

Inappropriate comment?

I would love to see journalists and bloggers take a short workshop training to learn the difference between the words “founder” and “co-founder”, so that they might correctly apply the label “co-founder” to Jimmy Wales, when referencing his roles with Bomis, Wikipedia, and Wikia. As for “founder”, I believe that he can rightly be labeled that as regards the Wikimedia Foundation.
