The Queen of Europe have announced on June 9 that the long-anticipated move of Brazilian star Kaka from AC Milan to Real Madrid has finally become a reality. The services of the Brazilian have been secured for a six-year term.

Kaka, aged 27, reportedly was linked to Stamford Bridge, but the lure of Europe's greatest club was insurmountable.

"Madridistas everywhere have been waiting a long time for the news, and finally it is a reality. Kaka, who many consider the best footballer on the planet, now plays for Real Madrid. But the dream has been a two-way street because Kaka wanted to add his name to the Real Madrid history books," the official statement says on the club's website said.

"What Kaka has already accomplished throughout his career is discussed in his profile, and what he does from here on out will only add to his legend and that of Real Madrid".

The deal that secured the player was worth 65 million euro.

"It will be very difficult to fill the void that Kaka will leave, as he is a shining example of commitment and professionalism," AC Milan said in a prepared statement.

The Brazilian maestro arrived in northern Italy from Sao Paolo in 2003 for just 8.5 million euro and has since enjoyed tremendous success with AC Milan.

In 2007, he lifted the Champions League trophy in Athens, beating Liverpool 2-1 on the final, a sweet revenge for the defeat inflicted by the Merseysiders in Istanbul two years earlier.  Kaka also collected the Uefa Super Cup and the Fifa Club World Cup, while with Brazil he has won the Confederations Cup. He was voted Fifa World Player of the Year in that same year.

"AC Milan, on behalf of the Rossoneri managers, players and supporters, send him the most cordial and affectionate wishes for the continuation of his sporting career," the official club statement said, as quoted by CNN.

"[He is] a shining example of professionalism and commitment.

"AC Milan thanked the man and the great champion Kaka for his decisive contribution to the many victories achieved in the six years of his commitment."
