Kalfin and Frattini are expected to sign the Declaration on Friendship and Cooperation between Bulgaria and Italy and a Memorandum on Understanding, aimed at increasing and developing co-operation between the two countries' foreign ministries.

As part of the June 8 ceremony, Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov will decorate Frattini with the Stara Planina Order, First Class, for "exceptional merits in the process of Bulgaria’s accession to EU, notably in "justice and home affairs", the BNR has reported.
