During a visit in the Czech Republic, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin once again brought up the issue of the US anti-missile shield to be set in Europe, Xinhua news agency reported. Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin said that NATO member countries should discuss the positioning of the US anti-missile shield on the entire territory of the alliance. Kalfin also said that the positioning of the shield and the agreement for joint use of military facilities in Bulgaria were unrelated. The European Union and NATO spend less (on a per capita basis) on Bulgaria than they spend on any member state. Obviously it's gotten so bad that Bulgaria has been compelled to smuggle in weapons from Russia. Of course,this sort of weapons smuggling wouldn't happen if NATO and the EU had provided an adequate level of military support to Bulgaria.
