On Saturday May 16 2009 the Bikevolution Association and Drag Bicycles will organise a census of cyclists in Sofia. The event, which will be the first ever of its kind in Bulgaria, is part of the annual bike parade in Sofia.

The idea behind the event is to show the city hall that Sofia needs more bicycle lanes.

Anyone who rides bicycle for sport, leisure or transport, is invited to come at 6pm on May 16 in front of Universiada Hall (behind the Foreign Ministry's building on Shipchenski prohod boulevard) where the bike parade will start.

It will finish at the Kolodrum (Bicycle track stadium) in Borissova Gradina park, where at 7pm the count of cyclists will start. It will be followed by an open air party.

A smilar event will also be held in the city of Plovdiv on Sunday May 17 2009. All cyclists are invited to gather at 10.30pm on Saedinenie square.
