I've been there several times and its really magnificent. However, I'm not sure it will be another touristspot covered with concrete and kitsch any time soon. The reason is that the town really is situated in a remote corner of Bulgaria. Unless you have a car it is not too easy to get there. The bus seems to take forever.
The place is still almost complete unknown to foreign tourists. I guess most visitors mentioned in the article are Bulgarians. Probably it will remain so a few more years since Bulgaria and marketing are [...]

Victims of their own success..... in promoting a beautiful and interesting location. How long before it is is overrun with concrete?
If now only the city can build a few hundreds of hotels and expand the parking spaces, so that Bulgaria can destroy another tourist spot in the country.
