English Premiership: Chelsea, Game Over.

Lacklustre Chelsea were robbed two points by Everton at Stamford bridge in a 0-0 draw, which effectively means Chelsea are out of the Premiership title challenge. They are now trailing six points behind Manchester United who have a game in hand, and it's difficult to imagine United losing three matches until the end.

Frank Lampard and company were hard to hide their disappointment at the final whistle, as Chelsea's title push was halted permanently, whereas the result kept Everton on sixth place, with 53 points, one point behind fifth placed Aston Villa.

The hosts enjoyed most possession, but then Everton was hitting on the break, had more original attacks, was much fresher on the assault and produced all the good chances in the game. So, in a way, Everton may be disappointed not to have claimed more from the match.

João Alves de Assis Silva, or simply, Jo, twice squandered golden opportunities to put the Toffees ahead, while Leighton Baines was denied a penalty when he was fouled by Alex in the box.

Chelsea's retaliation came in the form of a Didier Drogba shot that battered the woodwork, and with that, the Londoners' efforts on goal were more or less depleted.

Guus Hiddink's side are still fighting on two fronts. Having beaten Arsenal in the FA Cup semi final, they have assured themselves a final encounter with none other than Everton, who dispatched United on penalties. Chelsea also has a chance in Europe but first they have to negotiate Barcelona in the semi final.

Everton manager David Moyes told the BBC after the match:

"I thought we played extraordinarily well, passed it beautifully and made a few chances, as well as having a good shout for a penalty. You come to Chelsea and you know it'll be a tough game and they made it hard for us at times in the second half, so you can't be too disappointed with a draw.

"They have other fish to fry with the Champions League and so on, so maybe they had their eye off the ball this evening, but we certainly didn't and I'm happy with how we did against them."
