The Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, will make an official visit to Bulgaria, having received an official invitation from Bulgarian President Georgi Purvanov on April 14 and 15. This is the first such visit to Bulgaria in history, as reported by the press centre of the President’s cabinet.

The programme will entail a meeting between both members of state as well as a plenary discussion between the two official delegations.

President Purvanov and his wife, Zorka, will subsequently hold an official dinner for their guests on April 14.

During the second day of the visit, the Emir will meet the Bulgarian Prime Minister, Sergei Stanishev, and the head of Parliament, Georgi Pirinski.

The wives of the two heads of state are scheduled to visit the archeological museum and the oriental department of the State Library, St Kliment Ohridski.

Why is the bulgarian State Library called St. Kliment Ohridski?
Isn't St. Kliment a Macedonian Saint? And the very name Ohridski implies Ohrid, Macedonia...
