The Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (CEIB) and National Revenue Agency (NRA) executive director Krasimir Stefanov discussed faster VAT recovery for loyal companies in a move to improve liquidity amid the crisis.

The NRA said the two parties had agreed to form a joint team to look into VAT refund for investment firms.

The agency's press office did not comment on the idea to set up a gold registry of companies that are regular taxpayers.

CEIB executive director Evgenii Ivanov said the two sides had agreed to establish such a registry, where companies will get tax credits in shorter periods.

Also discussed was speeding up tax refunds for export companies. Businesses also proposed a wider application of bank guarantees.
