Political dramas to a greater or lesser degree are unfolding throughout South Eastern Europe.

Bulgaria saw what amounted to the unofficial first live television debate between the leaders of the two most significant parties contesting the 2009 elections. The Sofia Echo has the full story.

Elsewhere, the newspaper reports on the sundry elections around the region at the moment - in Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova and Slovakia.

Within Bulgaria, a key issue is the question of international adoptions, and in The Sofia Echo this week, Petar Kostadinov supplies a double-page spread with the latest information.

In celebration of Greece's national day on March 25, The Sofia Echo has a four-page bonus feature dedicated to Greece; and in our features section, we review a Greek restaurant and boast two pages of photographs from the reception hosted by Greek ambassador Danae-Madeleine Koumanakou.

As ever, the newspaper has its customary listings of what's on at live music venues, cultural centres and at galleries, along with details of the weekend's films and sport on television.
