Varna Appeals Court approved all 679 requests for the use of special intelligence means it received in 2008.

Means used included wiretaps and surveillance. No requests had been filed for the verification of computer data or undercover operations, a court media statement said as quoted by Bulgarian news agency BTA.

Crime registered in the region went down by just over eight per cent from 18 749 in 2007 to 17 232 in 2008, the court media statement said.

Among the crimes registered were 2180 economic crimes with damages of around 61.4 million euro, 396 robberies, of which 12 armed, 27 murders and 50 rape cases.

Prosecution worked on 30 cases of organised crime and 16 cases related to trafficking, the court media statement said.

A total of 19 306 pre-trial proceeding had been started, 2077 less than the year before, the court media statement said.

no wonder they give there permision ,being one of the curupt area,s in bulgaria they inform the criminals that they are being investigated ,so why would the deny the use off the intelligence
