500 police force for football match in Plovdiv

Regional Police Directorate Plovdiv announced it would have an increased police presence of 500 on duty for the football match between PFC Botev Plovdiv and PFC Levski on March 14.

Plovdiv is gearing up for a 2000-strong Levski travelling contingent that will descend on the town early on Saturday morning.

The match will kick off at 1pm in the Hristo Botev stadium in Plovdiv.

Levski fans would be accompanied by police forces on their way from the central railway station in Plovdiv to the stadium, Focus news agency said. Transport of the fans could lead to boulevards Iztochen and Hristo Botev being closed temporarily for other traffic.

The sale of alcohol in and around the stadium has been prohibited beteen 8am and 6pm.
