Mitsubishi will invest more than 250 million euro in the building of wind and solar energy parks in an area of Goulyantsi municipality near Pleven, Dnevnik daily reported on March 6 2009.

The project has been assigned to a Bulgarian Sliven-based company, which is a licensed regional representative of Mitsubishi. Both parks should be completed by 2013 and are expected to be in operation between 25 and 30 years.

The Japanese giant has paid one million leva for a land plot of 180 ha near Danube river. According to initial information, the wind park would cost more than 200 million euro. Its energy producing capacity would be 150 megawatts an hour. For the building of the park, the company will employ 70 people and co-operate with many other local firms, Dnevnik daily said.

The photovoltaic park with mounted solar panels will occupy 40 ha of the park. Its purpose is to transform the solar energy into electricity. The park would cost 18 million euro and its capacity has been calculated at 10MWh.
