Obama to meet EU leaders in Czech Republic in April

United States president Barack Obama will pay his first visit to the Czech Republic on April 5 2009, Czech prime minister Mirek Topolanek said.

During the visit, Obama will meet European Union leaders. The Czech Republic currently holds the six-month rotating presidency of the EU.

The visit will follow Obama’s trip to London for the G20 leaders summit on April 2 to discuss the global economic crisis. The London summit is a sequel to the November 2008 G20 meeting in Washington.

He is also expected to attend the Nato summit being held on April 3 and 4 to mark the alliance’s 60th anniversary.
