The fastest women on skis practised their skills on February 25 2009 in Bulgaria's Bansko winter resort ahead of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2009 on February 27-March 1 2009. Bansko will host not one but two events in the womens' race, and the most dramatic ones at that – the super-giant and downhill. The surprising addition of a bonus downhill race to the schedule of Friday, February 27, resulted from the cancelled St Moritz race after excessive snowfall on December 21 2008.
