Business centre Evrotour opens for business

Tue, Feb 10 2009 12:18 CET 1165 Views

The newly constructed business centre Evrotour in Sofia has received permission to start business. The 10-storey building on Tsarigradsko Chaussee is owned by cable operator Eastnet AD. The building was initially conceived as trading "for co-operative purposes", Stroitelstvo Gradut reports.

The business centre has a total area of 12 000 sq m. It is a joint venture built by chief architect Milomir Bogdanov from the company Bates Bulgaria and the main executive company in charge, Tugi OOD. The consulting firm was MMB Engineering EOOD.

In the first sub level of the centre there are large areas designated for storage facilities and two levels of underground parking lots. On the ground floor there is a restaurant, a bar, a bank, dentist, shops, and a coffee shop. The building is packed with offices on all its floors, whereas the top level has small apartment-type studios.

The structure was initially designed to accommodate a telecommunications company, thus the design is meant to to be feasible and practical. The building is designed so that the "offices have large open areas, a lot of natural light, are highly functional and comfortable," Milomir Bogdanov, the chief designer, who had graduated from the University of Houston, USA, told Stroitelstvo Gradut.

Work on the building began in autumn 2006, in the borough of Poligona, immediately behind the building currently under construction for Carrefour on Tsarigradsko Chaussee.
