Christmas Day engagement for Bulgarian Eurovision stars – live on TV

A Christmas Day special edition of Dimitar Tsonev's show on Bulgarian National Television saw Elitsa and Stundji, the country's representatives at Eurovision 2007, get engaged live on television.

During the show, Stundji - real name Stoyan Yankoulov (42) presented an engagement ring to Elitsa Todorova (32). The two have been musical partners since 2003 and, with their number Voda (Water), placed fifth in the 2007 Eurovision contest.

The ring presented to Elitsa was concealed in a sleigh bell in a moment a BNT report described as a "Christmas miracle on BNT".

Both formally trained as musicians and both individually the holders of several national and international music awards, Elitsa and Stundji continue to have a popular following outside the country with YouTube copies of Voda still attracting hits.
