Bulgarian woman attacked with sulphuric acid in Athens

A Bulgarian woman was attacked with sulphuric acid in Athens, Greek media reported.

The woman has been taken to hospital in critical condition, with severe burns in face, neck arms and back.

The woman, who was a secretary at the union for cleaners and domestic servants in Athens, was attacked in front of her home by two unknown assailants.
Bulgarian media claimed the attack was a warning or punishment for her trade union activities.

The Greek Employment Minister and the Interior Minister had been informed of the attack, Bulgarian media said.
