Up to 500 leva a session is what couples from the Svishtov region were said to have been paid to perform live sex sessions for an American pornographic website, Bulgarian media reported.

A home in the centre of the northern Bulgarian town of Svishtov had been used for two years for the recordings and for uploading videos to the website.
Actors had been assured the videos would only be visible in the US.

Visitors to the site paid by credit card to watch pre-recorded sessions and against additional payment could order live sessions. Star performers, according to Bulgarian media, were a local waitress and her boyfriend.

Local police discovered the studio by accident when investigating a burglary, local media reported.

The studio was run by a 30-year-old man from Svishtov. Between 20 and 30 men and women were said to have taken part in the sessions, all aged between 18 and 20, according to local media.

Reports in local media say the house was rented by one or two businessmen from Rousse, who paid the rent, as well as expenses for equipment, consumables and salaries.

According to Bulgarian newspaper Monitor, the sole owner had a legally registered company, which listed its activities, among others, as erotic chat.
