On October 22 2008, India launched its first Moon walker with 11 research modules, one of which was made in Bulgaria, Bulgarian-language daily Dnevnik quoted world new agencies as reporting.
The main goal of the spaceship is to film the Moon and to research in deep for availability of minerals.
The Chandrayaan-1 lunar exploration mission of the Indian Space Research Organisation will last two years and is considered a key element of India's space programme, the Associated Press reported.
The probe itself weighs 1380kg and cost $80 million. It is equipped with solar batteries and 11 research modules, including the Bulgarian one, three from the European space agency and two from the US. The other five are Indian.
If the mission of Chandrayaan-1 is successful, India will become one of the competitors in the race to master the moon, AP said. Only space missions originating from the US, Russia, European Space Agency, Japan and China have made it to Earth's satellite.
Works will be reviewed by a group of judges, and winners will receive certificates and prizes.
