November: happy musical returns

Tue, Sep 23 2008 13:32 CET 911 Views

Long time no see is not quite the case for Stereo MC's in Bulgaria, but this could only launch the fans of the British funky-electro-hip-hop band into the seventh heaven. Yes, Stereo MC's are coming back to Bulgaria for the third time on November 11. And which is more, they are coming to present their brand-new album Double Bubble and promise to make an exceptional show.

Double Bubble was released in the end of July 2008 and is considered one of the best albums of the year. It is a praiseworthy return of the duo after the three years of silence following the release of their previous album Paradise. Stereo MC's had already launched a European tour to promote the record and included Bulgaria in it.

Stereo MC's seem to return to Bulgaria every three years. They were here for the first time in 2002 to be headliners of the summer festival Arena Muzika and returned again in 2005. They must have enjoyed it because in March, Rob B left Nick Hallam at home to come to Sofia for an independent DJ set.

The concert starts at 8pm in Festivalna Hall. Buy tickets at National Palace of Culture (NDK) and Dance Centre Sin City's ticket desks or via ticketpro.bg. The price is 30 to 40 leva.

November will definitely be the month of the happy returns to Bulgaria, as ex-Moloko lead singer Roisin Murphy is also coming back, only five days before Stereo MC's, on November 6. She was here in 2003 for the Moloko concert.

Murphy's concert is part of the celebrations of the 400th anniversary of Bushmills whiskey, but she will make use of the opportunity to present her second solo album Overpowered. Proof that Murphy is as good alone as she was while part of Moloko is her MTV Europe Music Award nomination for Best Interact in 2007.

The event will also be held in Festivalna Hall and tickets are already for sale at eventim.bg for 35 to 80 leva.
