"The city hall and the state bodies, which decide the prices of energy services in Bulgaria, should take measures to resolve problems with the Toplofikatsiya [heating company], former economy and energy minister and current Parliamentary Budget and Finance Committee chair Roumen Ovcharov said Bulgarian National Television's (BNT) morning show, commenting on the risk of Sofia being left without heating. "Sofia residents must understand that the bills have to be paid […] the city hall knows what it had to do and has the money to do it, so it shouldn't waste any more time," Ovcharov said.

Nikolai Nikolov, head of the Interior Ministry's Chief Directorate of fire safety and rescue Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev getting stuck in a ski lift. "The PM made a good impression with his calmness," he said. "The truth is that the lift cabin was three meters at the most from the ground."
Nikolov also spoke about the huge fires in Rila Mountain. The cost of extinguishing them was still being calculated and should be clarified in a couple of days. But, Nikolov said , "we're talking big numbers here." The fire in Rila proves that Bulgarian needs aircraft dedicated to putting out fires, but a political decision was needed for a fleet to be purchased.
