The part of the Sofia ring road between Cherni Vruh and Bistrishko Chaussee boulevards, which had been undergoing repairs since mid-July, was opened on the morning of September 15, Sofia city hall said in a statement.
Bus routes 111 and 112 were restored as of September 15, but the ban for vehicles heavier than 10 tons remained.
Meanwhile, Simeonovsko Chaussee Boulevard will be closed for repairs starting September 16, until October 15, Dnevnik daily said. The public transport routes will be changed and bus line 67, starting from Sofia University's chemistry faculty building, going to Simeonovo neighbourhood, will be closed.
Danail Nikolaev Boulevard, between Stochna gara and Sitnyakovo Boulevard, was also opened after repairs.
Works will be reviewed by a group of judges, and winners will receive certificates and prizes.
