Some streets in Sofia will be closed for vehicles between September 12 and 14 because of the Nato Military Committee conference, Interior Ministry said.
Parking of all vehicles, excluding the ones, which transport participants in the conference, will be prohibited as follows:
- Between 8am and 11pm on September 12 on James Bourchier Boulevard and Petar Stanchev Str. Both streets are in Lozenets neighbourhood.
- Between 8am and 8.30pm on September 13 on Oborishte Str, the northern arch of St Alexander Nevski sq and November 15 Str. The market for antiques on the square will be closed.
Access to the Unknown Soldier Monument at St Nevski sq will be temporary restricted on September 12 and 13 because of official ceremonies.
Meanwhile, a number of streets and boulevards in the city are still being repaired.
The northern lane of Danail Nikolaev Boulevard will be closed until September 13 and traffic in the both directions is transferred to the south lane of the boulevard. The crossing of Sofia ring road and Simeonovsko Chaussee Boulevard will be closed until September 14. Traffic through another major crossing, the one of G.M. Dimitrov and Dragan Tsankov Boulevards, will be impeded because of the construction of metro route.
Hristo Botev Boulevard from Central Railway Station and Slivlitsa Boulevard will be closed until October 5.
Works will be reviewed by a group of judges, and winners will receive certificates and prizes.
Seven arrested, including ‘The Squirrel’ who was found in possession of 10 00 euro, Interior Ministry says. Mobile phones, computer equipment and drug paraphernalia seized.
Maximum temperatures across the country will remain mostly below zero.
The first tremor was at about 12.34am, followed by another three minutes later. Their epicentres were located between the towns of Radnevo and Topolovgrad.
There was no risk of blackouts caused by insufficient power supply, Economy Minister Traicho Traikov told Bulgarian National Radio.
