The summer may be coming to an end, but hot flamenco rhythms can always revive the summer mood. Flamenco masters Gipsy Kings will prove these words true on September 5 in Sofia's National Palace of Culture (NDK).
The show starts at 8pm, when 13 flamenco kings will mount the stage to spread their flamenco bliss, accompanied by phenomenal flamenco dancer Pilar Carmona.
Gipsy Kings' members belong to the Roma minority in Southern France, but their origin is Spanish, hence their musical preferences. They are famous for bringing a pop-oriented version of traditional flamenco music (rumba Catalana) to worldwide audiences. Their music had been described as flamenco and Roma rhapsody meeting salsa funk.
They might be Gipsy Kings, but they are not acting like royalty at all, organisers say. Their only requirements for their stay in Bulgaria are to try traditional Bulgarian cuisine and to have enough time to tune up their guitars to the acoustics of NDK's Hall 1.
Tickets for the event are available at eventim.bg and ticketstream.bg, as well as at NDK ticket desk for 30 to 60 leva.
