Is there anyone who is not participating in the Spirit of Burgas? The three-day music festival, running from August 15 to 17 2008, is drawing worldwide household names like Asian Dub Foundation and Cradle of Filth along with Bulgarian talent like Upsurt and Gravity Co to the first event of its kind in Bulgaria.

Organisers have described the shore-side festival as a "magnificent combination of sea and culture", with each of the stages giving platform to musicians of all styles of contemporary music.

Headlining on the main stage on Friday August 15, are from 7pm, Gras; 8.15pm, Hot Club de Paris; 9.30pm, Gravity Co; and 11pm, The Sisters of Mercy.

On August 16, Gangsta Gangsta Production plays at 7pm; PistaMashina at 7.25pm; Upsurt at 8.10pm; Pharoahe Monch at 9.30pm and Asian Dub Foundation at 11pm.

The last day of the festival sees New Generation take the main stage at 7pm; Bonobo live at 8.30pm; Kosheen at 10pm; and Cradle of Filth at 11.30pm.

In addition, every night, five additional stages - the Tuborg Dance Arena, presented by HMSU, Metropolis and Ministry of Sound; the Music Space Stage, the Jack Daniel's Rock Stage, the Jacobs 3in1 DJ Stage and the Latino Stage - keep the music going till the wee hours of the morning. Like 6am.

Tickets cost 35 leva for one day on the spot, with a three-day pass going for 99 leva. Tickets for entry after midnight are a bit less - 25 leva on the spot.

Spirit of Bourgas, which takes place under the patronage of Bourgas mayor Dimitar Nikolov, is organised in partnership with MTV Europe Foundation and the programme MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking), which works to end human trafficking and exploitation, while fostering in young people the ability to chose their own future
