Bulgaria's private television channel bTV launches the Bulgarian edition of one of the world's most successful TV games Fort Boyard in mid-March 2008.

The show would be aired once a week in prime time. Each programme would last 90 minutes, avtora.com said.

For the first time in the 19-year-long history of the show, teams from three nations, Bulgaria, Serbia and Turkey, will compete for the prize of Fort Boyard. A total of 48 competitors, 16 of them Bulgarians, will take part in the show, a co-production of bTV, Fox Turkey and Fox Serbia.

In the first part of the show, four Bulgarian, four Serbian and four Turkish teams of four players each will compete against other teams of their country, the best team from each country will reach the final.

In the game, the players will take part in various trials to collect keys. Teams win a key for each successful completion of a trial. The players need eight keys to unlock the treasure of the fortress.

The show is shot in a 17th century fortress in the Atlantic Ocean, to the west of France. The shootings of the Bulgarian edition were made in the summer of 2007.
