Hotel owners were expecting an increase of Bulgarian tourists during this year's holidays, chairman of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (BHRA) Blagoi Ragin told Focus News Agency.

About 10-15 per cent more Bulgarian tourists were expected to be holidaying in the country during the holidays as compared to 2006.

Ragin explained this was a result of the campaign aiming to encourage tourism within the country, Focus News Agency said.

Those who would go on holiday abroad preferred exotic destinations such as tropical islands, the Far East, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia.
