The Bulgarian who was shot dead in Spain's San Martin de la Vega on April 5 is still unidentified, Spanish ABC newspaper reported.

The man was found in a car. He was shot in the back of the head and died while medics were trying to save his life.

Witnesses said that the man was alive at the time emergency teams arrived at the crime scene. He only mentioned the name of a woman before he died, ABC reported.

Police found Bulgarian documents in the car. They were submitted for inspection and identification of the victim.

According to police the Bulgarian was an illegal immigrant. Further information has not been made public yet.

The Bulgarian embassy in Madrid said that it still lacks information on the murder.
