Bulgaria and Serbia discuss the opportunity to present a joint candidature to host winter Olympic Games.
During his visit to Serbia on February 21 2007 Bulgarian President Georgi Purvanov supported the idea for the construction of a tourism centre in Stara Planina Mountain on the border between the two countries, Serbian newspaper Blic said.
Mladan Dinkic, leader of Serbian party G17 Plus, suggested that the two countries could host together Olympic Games.
According to Blic, Purvanov assigned to Bulgaria's Economy and Energy Minister Roumen Ovcharov to launch discussion with Serbia on the execution of the project.
The last Olympic Games hosted on The Balkans were in Bosnia and Herzegovina's Sarajevo in 1986, Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) said.
If Bulgaria and Serbia present joint candidature, it would be the first case in which two Balkan countries present a common host application.
