Sports that can be practices in the new hall include volleyball, athletics and tennis. The new facility will meet international standards, municipality representatives said.

A second viable option involves the setting of a carting track near the sports hall.

The price for the construction of the hall has not been calculated yet. Projects will be tabled in Sofia municipality in March or April.

Upon receiving the projects Sofia municipality will launch a tender procedure. The municipality will provide the land and the infrastructure needed for the new hall.

Experts said that such facilities should be located in the outskirts instead of in the centre of the city. In case major sports events occurred there, traffic jams are likely to block the centre.
