LA Lakers climb to third place in NBA

Lamar Odom scored 21 points while captain Kobe Bryant added another 19 points and 10 assistances for the LA Lakers' win 99:93 over the New Jersey Nets.

After that, Los Angeles' team climbed to third in the West conference standings.

Meanwhile, the Nets registered their fifth consecutive defeat, though Vince Carter was impressive, scoring 21 points and 11 fights under the basket. Nenad Krstic also showed good form and finished the game with 20 points, while Jason Kidd made 16 assistances.

The Denver Nuggets took their fifth consecutive victory after clinching a win over the LA Clippers with 103:88. Carmelo Anthony was the best scorer in the match, firing 33 points while JR Smith added another 25 points.

Guest team San Antonio Spurs managed to beat the Seattle Supersonics with 98:78. The point difference between NBA leader Utah Jazz and San Antonio is small enough to be overturned. Tony Parker scored 20 points and Tim Duncan impressed fans with 18 points and 16 fights under the basket. The Spurs are the only team without any defeats in away games - seven consecutive victories since the beginning of the season.

Results: Toronto - Indiana 92:83, Denver - LA Clippers 103:88, Portland - Phoenix 101:119, Seattle - San Antonio 78:98, LA Lakers - New Jersey 99:93.
