The organisers of the ninth annual Bansko jazz fest to take place from August 8 to 13 announced the participants in the event.

This year nearly 150 musicians from around the world perform in Bulgaria's leading winter resort, avtora.com reported. Bulgarian participants included singers Nina Nikolina and Kamelia Todorova and percussionist Kalin Velyov.

This year's highlight included Cuban performers Raul Paz and Sexto Sentido.

Although Raul Paz was born in Cuba, he performed mainly in France and at jazz festivals around the world.

During the Bansko festival Paz would present his latest album Revolucion, combining authentic Cuban music with electronic sound. Paz will perform on August 8.

Nina Nikolina and Velyov would warm the audience up with interpretations of Brazilian songs.

Hilda Garcia Rodriguez from the Spanish embassy to Bulgaria said that Sexto Sentido was 'the best Cuba had to offer'. The quartet will perform on July 12.
