Bulgaria's biathlon competitor Ekaterina Dafovska finished in eighth position the 7.5 km sprint competition of the world cup championship start in Holmenkollen, Norway.
For the first time in a long period Dafovska did not miss a shot. This development proved decisive for her good ranking, the Bulgarian National Radio reported.
Dafovska finished the competition only 20.9 seconds after the winner, Martina Glagow from Germany. This is Glagow's third victory for the season and ninth in her career.
Italy's Michela Ponza finished second. Ekaterina Ivanova from Belarus is third. World cup champion Kati Wilhelm took the sixth place.
The other Bulgarians failed to rank among the first 10 finalists. Pavlina Filipova took the 28th place. Irina Nikoulchina finished 43rd and Radka Popova- 63rd.
Dafovska, Filipova and Nikoulchina will participate in the 10 km pursuit on Saturday.
